It was above freezing, so the 3-Ds all tumbled out onto the front porch, but just seemed to huddle around sniffing here, there and everywhere! It was a little unusual, and it didn't even dawn on me until later what they were doing. So, I shot all of these pictures, which would have made a better video really had I thought of it at the time.
You see, I've been leaving peanuts out for the squirrels under the protection of the front porch overhang. This way they don't get lost in the snow or squashed under feet. Some of the nuts were strewn on the porch itself, as I just threw them at random. So, I'm sure there were numerous little black visitors hopping around on the porch and rubbing their scent on the bricks. You can see the empty peanut shells strewn about in most of the pictures. Hard evidence of their presence.
There were two spots in particular that held the most fascination for the 3-Ds. One was the post behind the chair, and the other was right behind the grassy plant. Maybe the squirrels were partying in the plant pot and swinging around the post or something, who knows?
Anyway, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. There's quite a lot of them, but you can skim through them fast enough. So, here's the 3-Ds going crazy for "Eau de Squirrel". They seem quite disoriented at first.
"Eau de Squirrel" -- they should bottle that stuff, don't you think?Source URL: http://idontwanttobeanythingotherthanme.blogspot.com/2010/01/3-ds-oh-de-squirrel.html
