Brother, Can You Spare an Amero?

It's going to be homemade coffee.

Coffee from downstairs in the cafeteria, or Starbucks coffee. But it's going to be coffee. Starbucks...too fucking expensive. Cafeteria? Dishrag coffee. I guess I had better hoof it out to the nearest Duane Reade and get coffee, milk, sugar...the works? Yeah, the works. I have had nothing in my cupboards for a week now. I mean, I have survivability foods, like pasta, but nothing near coffee...or cocoa.

Yeah, Nestle's Real Cocoa Mix. I haven't had cocoa since I was a kid. Well, maybe that's not true...about 20years ago? Shit. I glom a box and head to the counter. When done I'm sitting upstairs with my coffeemaker and now I'm stuck. What to make? Coffee or Cocoa? Cocoa wins. Why, because it's been 20years. Let me ask you. Can you remember the last time you had a cup of cocoa? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I feel great today for some reason. I don't feel constrained, constricted, congested. I have freedom of motion, mind and spirit. I write some poetry, a little email, a little IM, and a little novel. I even finish a blog post. I know, I know, I haven't been keeping up with them but things have not pissed me off before like this:

As the White House and Congress proceed with discussions of what to do next, Congress is working to stretch unemployment compensation for people who have been out of work for up to 79 weeks, or a year and a half. The House passed a bill for 13 additional weeks of aid for jobless workers in the 27 states with unemployment rates of 8.5 percent or higher, but some senators want an extra 12 weeks of benefits available in all states.

So what if you've been out of work longer than 79 weeks? A year and a half. How about twice that? How do we get back into the job market? When there is no market? I don't know how some people even get up in the mornings. I know employers must be throwing this in their faces. 'You'd better shape up, there's hundreds of people out there looking for your jobs!' I know, I hate to say it, but I'm one of those hundreds.

I'm such an asshole that I"ll probably end up with an asshole boss, and I'll just walk off the job and hit the streets again. And be right back where I started from. Square one.

I pour cocoa. Why? Because what else is there to do?

But it's not just bad in this country. It's that way all over the world. I have friends that are from the UK on IRC and they say the same. That UK is having it bad. They say that it's coming down to where England is going to join the Euro. The Brittish pound swallowed by the Euro??? Wha? But they say that the US Dollar is going to do the same with the Amero. A Canadian, South American currency to replace the dollar. Shit!!!

Things are changing, too fast for words.
