From the Library: The Gentlemen from Vienna

The point is not to take the world's opinion as a guiding star but to go one's way in life and working unerringly, neither depressed by failure nor seduced by applause.

    ~ Gustav Mahler

July 7, 2010 was the 150th anniversary of the birth of the composer Gustav Mahler.  Mahler was one of many 18th and 19th Century composers who were from, and primarily based in, Vienna, Austria.

Today's program on thap gump's Main stream is a mix of music from Vienna's Classical composers, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and its Romantic Composers, Brahms and Mahler.

Radio Riel produces this program in conjunction with the Alexandrian Free Library Consortium of Second Life. You can listen to the program now at http://music.radioriel.org . Today's music originates from the music library of Gabrielle Riel.

For more information on the Alexandrian Free Library, current exhibits and the work of Consortium members in general, please visit the Alexandrian Free Library website, or one of their branches in-world.
